8 CAM Racers in the heart of Transylvania for Százszorszép
Százszorszép (also called Székelyföldi Stúdió) is operating in the heart of Transylvania, Romania, where significant Hungarian minorities are living.
Their main goal is to work closely with the Hungarian national television, producing short news and wider contents on local events.
Beside this long-term relationship, Százszorszép are also present on events like sports (ice hockey being very popular in Romania), concerts and also for the very important yearly Csíksomlyó Pilgrimage where hundreds of thousands of people are coming from all over the world to honor the Virgin Mary.
This project is supported by a regional EU entity, with a careful and long selection process and a high technical broadcast requirement within a contained budget.
Studiotech Hungary managed this project closely with Százszorszép.
They decided to use 8 Ereca CAM Racers Lite as transmission solution for its powerful features in a contained mechanical and economical footprint:
“The main reason we decided to move on with the Ereca system was the small footprint, as otherwise with other CCU’s, the 8 cameras would occupy a full rack.
Besides that, the comprehensive monitoring function over the whole transmission was a very big plus. Obviously, the system provides all the important features, despite the small form factor, like complete camera control, multiple intercom and audio and also genlock and TC transmission.
We were initially surprised about the separated network transmission towards the camera head but found it very useful in many events as it easily provides a network connection (along with internet access) straight to the commentary position from one of the camera heads, even with 600meter of fiber in between” says Máté Kovács from Studiotech Hungary.
